Continuing our journey to make Grado’s signature sound wireless, the GT220 are our first true wireless in-ears. We’ve been working on these for a few years, and I’m happy to finally release them.
The GT220 has been a pretty big project to keep under wraps, especially since I’ve been using them almost everyday since the beginning of 2020. There are two major aspects we really wanted to focus: battery and sound. These are using our mini-drivers that we’ve been constantly working on since the release of our first in-ears in 2009. Tuning and tweaking these to work in a true wireless setup was a project in itself, but we’re extremely proud of the way they sound.
When it comes to the battery, we wanted great life and options when it comes to charging. The TWS earbuds and the charging case combine for 36 hours of playback battery life. We also added not only charging by USB-C cable but wireless charging as well. This makes it easy to throw on a charging pad when you get home or before you run out without having to find a cable.
