@AlohaCrabs does #InspiredBySound takeover, March 13, 2015

Whenever we can, we have photographers takeover our Instagram page for a weekend to talk music and show how their photography is #InspiredBySound. This past weekend we had Vincent Carabeo (@alohacrabs) takeover. See either our feed or below on how everything from waves crashing to his favorite songs inspire his photography.

Hello! Vincent (@alohacrabs) here to share some of my photos for Grado’s very first #InspiredBySound takeover. This will be a series on how music (song, artist, or album) or a certain sound inspired or influenced my photos. Before I start, let’s share a few things about myself: 1: I’m originally from Hawaii currently living in NYC. 2. I feel uncomfortable being in front of the camera, hence why I shared a distant photo of me. 3. As I was standing on this rock, I was thinking about the song Alive by Empire of the Sun. Welcome to New York – @Taylorswift One of my favorite spots in NYC. I’ve been here 28 times since I’ve moved to the East Coast (June 2014). Anytime I’m up here, I think about Taylor Swift’s song as I stare out into this incredible view of the city. Yeah, I have no shame in admitting that I love listening to her music. Waves Crashing. I grew up in Hawaii so being around water is always relaxing. Nature creates some of the best tunes, we just have to take the time to listen to them. – @alohacrabs #InspiredBySound

No Place I’d Rather Be – Clean Bandit (ft. Jesse Glynne) I have a tendency of hearing a song for the first time, falling in love with it and then putting it on repeat for hours. This was one of those days. It was just me, my music, and my camera strolling through the streets of NYC. -@alohacrabs #InspiredbySound

Promise – Ben Howard (@bhwrd) My sister and I went out to explore the Big Four Ice Caves. On our way there, we kept listening to Promise. It was incredible driving through some of the most beautiful scenery while listening to this song. Give it a shot. Get in a car, drive through your favorite spots and listen to some awesome tunes! -@alohacrabs #InspiredBySound

My editing process must always include music. I never feel inspired to edit my photos unless I’m listening to music. It’s a must. I usually listen to anything by Ben Howard, Matt Corby, Florence & The Machine. If you have any suggestions, feel free to tell me. Thanks for sticking around my takeover this weekend.
